I have had a cool life.  Raised by missionary parents and, as an adult, having lived abroad myself, I have had the opportunity to call exceptional places home - Malaysia, Haiti, Senegal and Kenya.  The rich cultures, diverse flora and fauna and the expat experience have influenced me and, therefore, my art. In addition to my love of nature, history and travel - Faith, Family and Art are my anchors.

Graphic Design and Art Education were my majors at Grace College in Indiana.  Later, I obtained a master’s degree in Art Education from Boston University.  I have spent my professional career teaching all levels of art from kindergarten to college.  Currently, I am a visiting lecturer with the Art and Design Department at the University of Central Arkansas.

Being an artist and an educator has given me the opportunity to dive into and play with many different mediums and ways of making. I have a personal slogan - ‘Make Art Everyday.’ - and most days, I do. My style is illustrative and my works are meant to be subtly communicative.  They are often glimpses of just part of a story and leave room for the viewer to provide the greater context.   My preferred media changes with each challenge and on any given day I may be found drawing, painting or collaging.

Make Art Everyday, whatever form that takes.  For me it is visual art, for others it may be music, poetry or dance.

The important thing is to Make!
